Vehicle registration increased in Sri Lanka |
"Over 45,000 vehicles were registered"
Vehicle registrations has increased Sri Lanka in the first month of this year, Commissioner General of the Department of Motor Traffic, H.S. Harischandra said.He noted that close to 30,000 vehicles were registered in January 2013.
The number of vehicles registered in the first eleven months of last year dropped by 22.7% when compared to the same period in 2011.Commissioner General of Motor Traffic S.H. Harischandra said that although over 45,000 vehicles were registered last month before the import tax was increased, the number later dropped to 24,000.
The registration of cars reduced significantly by 70%.
