Miss Sri Lanka 2012, Sabrina Herft will compete with other 89 stunningly beautiful contestants from various countries in the 61st Miss Universe 2012 pageant, which will be held in Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas on Dec. 19, Wednesday, at 8 pm EST/5 pm PST. Miss Universe 2012 pageant will be broadcast live from Las Vegas,United States on Telemundo and NBC. 

Sabrina Herft has been named a close favorite to enter the top 16 and thereby have a good chance of winning this year's Miss Universe pageant. 

She is a 25-year-old graduate in Mass Communication of the University of Melbourne, Australia. At present she is a media coordinator of a World Bank funded project in Sri Lanka.

Having wowed the judges with her charm and confidence, Sabrina will hopefully move on to the finals, which will see a host of celebrity judges led by pageant owner Donald Trump pick the winner.

Christina Mikkelsen from Denmark was chosen Bride of the World 2012 and the first runner-up was Ms Fong In Inez Leong,Hong Kong.
Sri Lanka’s Aruni Rajapaksha was selected as the 3rd place at the 2nd edition Bride of the World 2012 pageant held in macau,China.

Brazil’s Camilla Reis was also the winner of the Best National Costume Award.
34 countries were participated the pageant.

Ikumi Yoshimatsu won the 52nd Miss International 2012 

Ikumi Yoshimatsu from Japan was chosen Miss Internationals and the first runner-up was Miss Finland, Viivi Suominen.

Sri Lanka’s Madusha Mayadunne was selected as the second runner-up at the 52nd Miss International 2012 pageant held in Okinawa, Japan.

Miss friendship was won by Ameeksha Dilchand of Mauritius, Best in Talent was awarded to Russia’s Ekaterina Meglinskaia, Nicole Velasquez of Honduras was adjudged Best In national Costume while Miss Photogenic was also won by Japan.

Aylen Nail Maranges has been crowned the 2012 Miss Italy in the World. September 9, 2012.
She defeated the other five finalists were:

25 years old, born in Rosario Santa Fe, Argentina and living in Modica, Ragusa, Sicily. 1.70 high, has green eyes and brown hair.

Sri Lankan beauty in Miss Italy finals...

A girl born to Sri Lankan parents, Nayomi Andibuduge has been selected among the six finalists for the Miss Italy of the World Crown in the Miss Italy pageant. 18 years-old Naomi Andibuduge was among the 20 contestants competing in the category and has now been included among the six finalists.
The Miss Italy pageant will take place next month (2012, September 9) and the Miss Italy of the World is a new segment included this year where a foreigner living in Italy for a minimum of one year can take part in the contest.

Nayomi Andibuduge was born in Rome to her Sri Lankan parents Reymond and Sandhya, Italian news reports said.

Sri Lankan Beauty Jacqueline to act in her mentor's directorial debut

Sri Lankan beauty Jacqueline Fernandez, for his directorial debut. 

Acting guru Vinod Tharani, who has coached the likes of Deepika Padukone and Amy Jackson, wants to cast his student, SriLankan beauty JacquelineFernandez, for his directorial debut. 

"I know Jacqueline very well. I know her since the time she came to Bombay. My script has a possibility of such a character. I know about her talent and capabilities and have decided to cast her," he told. 

"My script will be complete in a week's time. I have discussed with her earlier and she said she would love to do my film," he added. 

Elaborating on his script, he said it is a fun family drama.

--> "It is a comedy basically. It's a feel good film like Ferrari Ki Sawaari. It's about a guy and a girl and five dogs. I can't reveal any more details about it as of now," said Tharani, who has coached many stars. 

A graduate in microbiology, he himself trained with eminent theatre personalities like Satya Dev Dubey, Habeeb Tanveer, Bansi Kaul and Alok Chatterjee. He worked with them in Bhopal, Delhi and Mumbai. 

"I used to take acting workshops when casting directors approached me to train actors. Then directors approached me, then talent management companies approached me....and it goes on. I don't remember my first student's name, but first one to become a star was Deepika," he said. 

"I guide them on how to act, how to present themselves in the industry. They don't know a lot of thing about the industry, which I do since I have been here for the last 15 years," he said. 

Sometimes coaching continues during shooting. 

"Once the cast of a film is decided, I am told about the role and I start training. Sometimes directors want me to be there even during shoots," explained the 35-year-old who runs Midas Touch Acting And Dance Studio (MADS) in Mumbai. 

But getting coached by Tharani is not an easy task. Before training an actor, "I interview him. I get to know why they want to enter acting." 

From their mental strength to common sense, he assesses everything. 

"If I feel they are dedicated and are loyal to the craft, I take them on. I assess their mental strength also because they have to face rejections in the industry," he said. 

"There are lots of modelling agencies who introduce me to their models. At the end of the day, all models want to become actors. But there is a common sense which is required for acting and only if they have that, I groom them." 

"Passion is also very important. I can't train people just because of their hobbies. You can't lose interest in the middle," he added. 
Talking about his training, he said, "I cover all aspects every day and cover all detailing. After my training, you get to know if you are cut out for acting or not."
